The design has real taste, restrained serif, calm dark theme, and the letterpress "Sample" board is a specific, charming content choice. Dropping you into a look-only sample with "start from Boards" lets you try it with zero setup, and the AI "Operator" showing its credit cost per turn is honest.
The biggest problem
There's no landing page and no stated purpose anywhere. You're dropped into a sample board with a 7-step tour, and nothing says what this is for, who it's for, or why it beats Trello, Notion or Linear. In a category this saturated, "here's a nice board, figure it out" won't convert.
Top suggestion
Add a one-screen intro before the app: one line on what it is and who it's for, and lead with the AI ("Describe your project, get a board") if that's the real differentiator, not another kanban.
Why kanban studio
From the app alone I can't tell. It's a good-looking kanban with an AI that builds boards from text. If that AI is fast and good, that is the reason to exist, and it should be the headline, not a panel I stumble onto. On looks alone it doesn't beat Trello or Notion.
What's keeping away people from using the studio option
Discoverability and trust. "Studio kit" is a vague label in the top-right corner, and opening it shows a credit meter before I know what it does or whether it's any good. Show one prompt-to-board example up front, and name the button for the outcome ("Build a board with AI"), not "Studio kit".
Anything that kanban feature missing?
Hard to judge without my own board, but from the Sample: no visible assignees or collaboration, no way to share a board, and the calendar view implies dates matter but there's no clear "my week." If it's solo and local-only, sell that ("private, no account, yours") instead of leaving it unsaid.
